5 Amazing DIY Body Scrubs Using Sugar

The scorching heat of summer calls for a good bath scrub. And while you can buy ready ones over the counter (and pay a bomb for them!), save your money and create your own at home. Here are 5 amazing DIY body scrubs that you can make using sugar.

1) Sugar and Body Wash

This one is a no-brainer. Simply mix crushed sugar with your body wash and use it as a scrub. It helps in gently exfoliating your skin, while also creating a rich lather.

Things you need:
1/2 cup crushed sugar
2tbsp body wash

2) Sugar and Coffee Scrub

Coffee is known for its cellulite fighting properties and you can use it to get rid of unsightly bumps. Mix equal quantities of brown sugar and coffee in a bowl. Add a few drops of coconut and olive oil to avoid abrasion.

Things you need:
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup coffee
1tbsp olive oil
2 tbsp coconut oil

3) Sugar and Lemon Scrub

Came back from your summer holiday with an ugly tan? Get rid of the stubborn marks with this scrub. Add lemon juice and honey to your bowl of crushed sugar and mix well.

Things you need:
1 cup crushed sugar
Juice of 1 lemon
1tbsp honey

4) Sugar and Banana Scrub

If you have dull skin and want to rejuvenate it, try out this banana scrub, which is rich with antioxidants. Mash a banana and mix it with granulated sugar to form a chunky paste. Add a little essential oil of your choice. It not only exfoliates, but also tightens your skin.

Things you need:
1 cup sugar
1 ripe banana
1/4tbsp essential oil of your choice

5) Sugar and Vanilla Scrub

Stepping out for a hot date? Make our skin silky smooth with this vanilla scrub, which will also leave it with a scintillating aroma. Blend white and brown sugar with vanilla extract. Add some almond oil for extra moisturisation.

Things you need:
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup white sugar
3tbsp vanilla extract
1/4 cup almond oil
