5 Movie Fashionista Wardrobes We’d Love To Loot
Ever since movies have begun, celebrity costumes have been an integral part of fashion and trends. But when it comes to fashion in films, the closet from Sex and the City is not the only one to raid. Here are five other movie wardrobes we’d love to loot.
1. Aisha (2010)
The Carrie Bradshaw of Bollywood, Sonam Kapoor’s Aisha looks every inch the elite, high-end fashionista. Pernia Qureshi, the film’s stylist sourced costumes from couture designers, vintage stores and street markets in New Delhi and New York. Having tied up with Dior, the film’s producer (and Sonam’s sister) Rhea Kapoor made sure Sonam looked absolutely stunning in each of the Dior dresses she wore paired with Chanel bags. ‘Aisha’ also wore gorgeous lehengas designed by Anamika Khanna, while her best friend Pinky (Ira Dubey) wore quirky jackets by Manish Arora.
2. Cocktail (2012)
Unlike Aisha, Cocktail had a more versatile costume selection. Styled by Anaita Shroff Adajania, the hot and sexy Veronica (Deepika Padukone) wore sequinned dresses, floral palazzos, crop tops, jumpsuits and designer saris, while the simple Delhi girl, Meera (Diana Penty), was seen in some stylishly cool yet conventional Indian clothes.
3. Clueless (1995)
A classic ’90s fashion film, Clueless charmed every teenager who watched it. Cher (Alicia Silverstone) of Clueless had a massive computerised wardrobe to choose her outfits from, something we can only dream of. She would simply turn on the virtual outfit builder and try on the tons of designer clothes at her disposal. Cher wore a yellow plaid skirt suit with thigh-high white stockings and furry backpacks. The movie also showcased the simple red dress and high bow dresses that Cher pulled off very well. We simply loved every bit of her iconic style.
4. Confessions Of A Shopaholic (2009)
The name very much depicted the theme of the movie and opened our doors to the cluttered closet of Rebecca Bloomwood (Isla Fisher), America’s most obsessive shopper. Isla Fisher wore bright coloured outfits and mixed low- and high-end garments to create her very own stylish ensembles. Costume designer Patricia Field chose thigh-high socks, plaid dresses, long coats, wide cinched belts and an adorable pink skirt for Becky—all of which definitely left a lasting impression on our minds.
5. Princess Diaries 2 (2004)
Anne Hathaway, Princess Mia of Genovia, looked absolutely regal in gown she wore in the film. Her jewellery, by Chopard, only added to the elegance of her outfits. Costume designer Gary Jones very well showcased the wardrobe of a princess by picking remarkably intricate designs.
We absolutely cannot get over these beautiful wardrobes. Tell us which one is your favourite fashion movie wardrobe.
