Hence, we present 5 survival tips for Lakme Fashion Week. Learn how you may juggle different activities while still looking as fresh as morning dew.
Homework, homework, homework; we can’t stress how important it is for you to learn about the fashion week in advance. Take a look at previous collections and general fashion style of individual designers. This will help you analyse their current collection. In addition, know peculiar styling traits of each popular designer, for instance, Manish Malhotra usually has a colourful palette and chic cuts.
Tweet it, Like it, Share it, Pin it – phew, your smart phones are sure to run out of battery with so much to do. Along with this, you may need to talk with your colleagues and friends for the latest collection, get pictures, keep reminders and much more. Keep a portable battery charger and other tech accessories with you for your phone. Don’t forget to charge your iPods and tablets, as you’ll need them during the breaks.
Oh yes, this is essential! Unless you want to end up with an utterly painful shoe bite or have nasty dark circles, suggest you stock up on a few medical items. Always, keep a stock of band-aids for those heels and tight outfits. Keep a paracetamol and pain killers handy for a tiring day. In addition, get hold of travel sized eye creams that will prevent your eyes from looking tired and dull. Carry nuts and water, to keep yourself hydrated and well fed.
How to dress for fashion week? Well, look like a million bucks! Stick to wardrobe staples like the LBD or denim and keep quirky, statement accessories handy. However, ensure that you wear comfortable shoes, preferably flats. If you are keen on heels, carry a comfortable pair with you. Your feet will bless you at the end of the day. Always carry kohl pencil, compact, lipstick and light blush for a quick touch up.
It’s fashion, and it’s sure as hell fun. Enjoy yourself; take breaks every now and then to meet new people and network with them. However, ensure that you are updated with the latest gossip and know each designer in detail. Follow fashion editors and glitterati on Twitter and Facebook to get the latest scoop.
