8 Uses Of Olive Oil You Hadn’t Yet Discovered
You may be knowing about the health benefits of olive oil when used for cooking, but what about your skin and hair? Olive oil contains squalene, a natural moisturiser that treats your skin, hair, nails and lips. Moreover, the Vitamin A and E present in it provide a lot of health benefits to enhance your beauty. So today, we are going to tell you some of the unique uses of olive oil that you hadn’t yet discovered.
For Your Skin
Being rich in Vitamin A and Vitamin E, olive oil works great when used as a moisturiser. The vitamins also protect your skin from UV rays. When mixed with vinegar and applied before a warm bath, it also helps to soothe sunburn.
2) Removes Makeup & Cleans Makeup Brush
Olive oil not only removes your makeup, but also nourishes your skin from within. Simply apply a little olive oil on cotton and wipe your face gently to clean it. Not just your face, olive oil also cleans up your makeup brushes. Apply olive oil plus dishwashing liquid to the wet bristles and massage them. Rinse and set flat to dry—and voila, they’re new again.
3) Wrinkle-Free Skin & Eye Cream
By regularly applying olive oil to your hands and face, the antioxidants in it can work wonders for your skin, thus helping you get a smooth, soft and wrinkle-free skin for a long time. Also, gently applying a little bit of olive oil around your eyes everyday before going to bed can soften the lines in that area.
4) Cuticle Conditioner
Apply a small amount of olive oil to your cuticles to moisturise them. Or, simply dip your fingertips in a mixture of olive oil and water for stronger and shinier nails.
5) Lip & Body Scrub
Mix coarse sugar with a teaspoon of olive oil to repair your chapped lips. This moisturises them, thus making them more soft and smooth. Moreover, you can also apply the mixture to your body in order to use it as a body scrub. Wow! That saved us a lot of time.
For Your Hair
A mixture of olive oil and almond oil can be applied on the scalp to get rid of dandruff. Keep the mixture for five minutes before taking a shower for immediate results.
7) Deep Hair Conditioner
A weekly massage with heated olive oil will make your hair shine and look stronger, with fewer split ends. You can use olive oil as a hair conditioner by applying it after shampooing your hair. Also, you can rub a few drops of olive oil on flyaway ends to get a glossy finish for your hair.
8) Tangled and Frizzy Hair
Comb your hair with a bit of olive oil during winters to get rid of frizzy and dry hair problems. It helps to moisturise your hair and hence keep them long and strong.
