Foodies’ Trip to Hyderabad
So I’m taking you back to Hyderabad, where we left off with a shopping guide for local treasures. But if there’s one thing that shopping does, it’s helping us work up an appetite. So I figured why not put down some local eateries you must visit to get a taste of some special Hyderabadi cuisine.
The Hyderabad Food Guide:
Paradise Biryani: Named after the most popular Hyderabadi dish. The recipe was brought to India by Muslim travellers (in the Nizam’s kitchen). One thing that you cannot miss is the yummy tasty Paradise biryani! Also try out the Kebabs and Haleem.
Famous Icecream: I scream, you scream and we all scream for ice cream! Famous Ice cream is a specialty in the city. They have all the typical flavours of ice cream but they also have their own freshly made fruit ice creams. You’ll surely come back for this again. My recommendation – the Mango and Rockmelon flavours.
Famous Icecream is located at: Inside Clock Tower, Mozzamjahi Market, Abids, Hyderabad.

Chutneys: This is my favorite breakfast place in the city. As the name suggests, Chutneys’ specialty is serving some yummy chutneys to accompany your South Indian dishes with a selection of different chutneys from coconut, mango, tomato, chillies, mustard seeds, onions, and peanuts. My recommendation – Guntur idli.
Timings – 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM
Chutneys is Located at Shilpa Arcade, Road No 3, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad. Phone: 040 6677 8484
Govind ki bandi: Popular among the crowd for serving early morning breakfast at 5 am, when you’ll still be waiting in a queue. A heavy breakfast can make your day, especially at Govind’s bandi. The dosa is filling and sprice. My Recommendations – Dosa, tawa idli and tawa vada.
Timings – 5:30 AM to 7:30 PM
Govind bandi is located at: Char Kaman, Ghansi Bazaar, Hyderabad.
Karachi Bakery: Karachi bakery is a household name in every nook and corner of the city. They offer delicious baked goods and confections that will delight your senses on any day and on any occasion. If you happen to miss out this on a trip here, they are also available at the Hyderabad airport. My Recommendations – Choco Cashew Biscuits
Karachi Bakery is located at: Opp.Hotel Taj Banjara, Road No.1, Banjara Hills, Hyderabad.

I hope this guide was helpful. Writing it sure has made my mouth water! If there are any other local eateries you love in Hyderabad, or you discover on your trip here, please do let us know in comments below.
