Bollywood Red Carpet Styles

It’s that time of year when the Bollywood brigade comes out in their best-dressed and puts in their strongest efforts to have that upper-hand when it comes to red carpet style, and to pick up an award or two on the way of course. Now that most of the awards functions have taken place, we show you how well your favourite B-Town beauties performed on the red carpet.

Deepika Padukone
Deepika dazzled in two very contrasting styles in her red-carpet appearances this season. Looking pretty as picture in a teal lace Dolce & Gabbana gown at the Screen Awards, she was feminine classiness personified. At the Filmfare awards, she opted for a more bold route in a racey black Prabal Gurung paired with spunky, studded Loubotins. Hats off to her for always looking fabulous!

Ileana D’Cruz
I’ve already told you’ll that 1920’s trends are going to be big this year, which is why I’m loving Ileana’s Roberto Cavalli number. The drop waist, gold sequinned bodice and her side-swept pinned curls gave her the desired flapper girl allure. Kudos to her for being one of the first actresses to experiment with this style.

Priyanka Chopra
Priyanka nailed it with her red-carpet looks this year. For Filmfare, she showed off her back and shoulders in a strapless turquoise blue Armani Prive gown. Love the dark berry lips with it. At the Stardust Awards, she went for a completely different style with a black halter paired with black Rag & Bone palazzo pants. She looked stunning!

Shruti Hassan
Shruti also gave us very different looks at the different awards functions. At Filmfare, she looked hot in a warrior-esque corseted Raakash Agarvwal black gown which she carried off perfectly. She went for a more girly style at the Screen Awards in a rich purple Amit GT gown and striking red lips. Can’t wait to see what she wears next!

Aditi Rao Hydari
Aditi Ray Hydari sparkled in metallics at two different functions. She went desi in a silver Gaurav Gupta saree at the Filmfare Awards, and chose a dull gold Rohit Gandhi + Rahul Khanna playsuit for the Stardust Awards. Good to see that she went bold for both occasions.

Alia Bhatt
I’m quite disappointed by Alia Bhatt’s sartorial choices for this awards season. Wish she would have done more with her Shehlaa by Shehla Khan gown to transform it to look beyond ordinary. Though she looked cute in her Manish Malhotra lehenga at the Filmfare Awards, it would have been nicer to see her in something younger and spunkier.

Bipasha Basu
Bipasha looked great in her beautiful Gucci gown. She added some glitz to the look with an exquisite necklace and finished it off with a Tods clutch in a contrasting hue of purple. She looked amazing and I love her new haircut.

Anushka Sharma
Anushka was dressed to kill this season. She looked gorgeous in her yellow Victoria Bekham gown, winged eyes and up-do at the Filmfare Awards. She nailed it again at the Stardust awards in a black tiered ruffle Armani gown with another amazing hairdo. Hope she continues to wow us with her style.

Chitrangada Singh
Chitrangada looked ethereal in her white strapless Roberto Cavalli gown at the Screen Awards. She looks fantastic in almost anything, it’s no surprise then that she looked like a princess in this gown.

Parineeti Chopra
Parineeti can give you tips on what not to wear on the red carpet. Looking at that hideous sheer choli and unflattering pocketed shirt with the skirt matching her headband, don’t you think it’s time cousin, PC stepped in as her fashion guardian angel?
