The Week That Was: Hollywood’s Abuzz
Hello, my lovelies! Surprised to see us today, are we? Well, we’ve always believed—what’s life if not full of surprises? That (and the fact that this new schedule works better for us) has led us to bring you The Week That Was on an all-new day and time. So if you thought our weekly round-up had disappeared into oblivion, well, you were wrong. As if you didn’t have enough to celebrate, we go and give you another reason. Classic us!
RIP, Joan Rivers
It’s with a very heavy heart that I have to put down this piece of information. If any of you were addicted to Fashion Police on E like I was, you would know what I’m talking about. Known for her trademark unabashed wit and for always calling a spade a spade, Hollywood mourns the loss of comedian Joan Rivers as she died in a New York hospital yesterday, a week after suffering cardiac arrest during a medical procedure. At 81, she was still working and rocking it, which is why her death seems untimely to all. Having inspired many women to go out and live their dreams, she will be best remembered for her work and her quotes. Take a look.
Friends – The Mini Reunion
For the immediate need to change my mood and yours, I must show you this right now. Monica, Rachel and Phoebe decided to throw us a bone here, and we are so Friends hungry that we will take whatever we get! Check them out on Jimmy Kimmel’s show. Even though I can’t even imagine Friends without the boys, this was such a treat. To see the girls again (aren’t they still HOT, by the way) and to hear the tune just warmed the cockles of my heart. Watch!
Scarlett, The Latest Hot Mama
Scarlett Johansson gave birth to a baby girl in her hometown of New York this past Saturday. Born Rose Dorothy Dauriac, the child is the first for the 29-year-old actress and her fiancé, Romain Dauriac. Johansson has been dating the Parisian journalist since November 2012, after they were introduced by their mutual tattoo artist. “Mother and daughter are doing well,” her reps told the Associated Press. We bet Scar Jo is going to make one yummy mummy!
Congratulations To The Newlyweds
A wedding that has been almost 10 years in the making has finally commenced. Yes, Brad and Angie (I talk like they are friends of mine) have finally tied the knot! Not like they needed to or anything, with a brood of their own and their undying commitment to each other, this was just a formality the way we see it. Anyhow, here are the details:
The Associated Press reports that Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were married on 23 August in Chateau Miraval, France, according to a spokesman for the couple. Pitt and Jolie’s six children were also in the wedding. Jolie walked the aisle with her eldest sons Maddox, 13, and Pax, 11. Zahara, nine, and Vivienne, six, threw flower petals while Shiloh, eight, and Knox, six, served as ring bearers. The personalised touch on Angelina’s gown came from Atelier Versace master tailor Luigi Massi, who hand-sewed a number of designs made by the famous couple’s six children on the back of the dress and the full-length veil. Now this has certainly got mixed reactions, and probably more reactions than the wedding itself! What do you think?
Fashion faux pas or completely aww-worthy?
Hollywood’s Nude Photo Scandal
The FBI is investigating reports that the online theft of private nude photographs of celebrities such as Jennifer Lawrence and Kate Upton was the work of an underground hacking and picture trading ring rather than a lone individual.
The images that have been leaked online so far are only believed to be a small portion of a huge collection of such explicit photographs that a group of unidentified hackers has been amassing for months.
An anonymous poster on the 4chan website, where some of the photographs have been released, referred to an ‘underground celeb nood-trading ring’ (using web slang for ‘nude’) that ‘has existed for years’.
This is creepy and disturbing and makes you wonder what data is safe after all.
On a very Hollywood-skewed The Week That Was, we must end it on this desi note! Have you caught Honey Singh’s latest song yet? It’s a nice song that will most likely get stuck in our heads, but what’s with the 10-minute video? And that rap is hilarious! Also, can anyone else explain what exactly is happening in the video? How come they are attacked and they get away unscathed. One of life’s unanswerable questions! You go for it, YoYo!
I hope I’ve left you updated and thoroughly entertained. Because, well, because yeh toh mera farz hai.
