Celeb Style Weekly: Even Dior Couldn’t Save Kangana
The weekend is here and it’s a good time to reflect on the week that was. Tinseltown was abuzz with celebrity appearances and while some ladies gained our appreciative nods, others left us reeling with shock.
If you missed out on all the celeb style, here’s a quick roundup of who wore what this week.
1) Deepika Padukone
The dimpled beauty turned up to NDTV’s Indian of the Year Awards in a Dev R Nil sari. She wore a monochrome high-neck blouse, which perfectly complemented the black-and-white borders of her yellow sari. Braided hair brought out the retro charm of her Indian avatar. Love!
2) Kangana Ranaut
The ‘revolver rani’ attended the NDTV awards wearing Dior. A high-waist asymmetric black skirt with a silk blouse could have looked really great had the length of the skirt been shorter.
3) Sunny Leone
At the inauguration of The Society Collection, Sunny dazzled in a white drape gown with gold 3D embroidery on one side. Unfortunately, the gown was so long, we were afraid she would trip. Thankfully, she did not.
4) Sonam Kapoor
The fashionista wore an Elie Saab Couture dress to the L’Oréal event at Cannes. The strapless fit-and-flare dress worked beautifully for her silhouette. She paired the shimmery champagne ensemble with matching pumps. This look is a total winner!
5) Huma Qureshi
6) Celina Jaitly
The former beauty queen launched her song for Imran Khan’s LGBT in a little black dress. While the cause is good, the look is just plain boring. A less dated LBD could have done some good to her own style.
7) Preity Zinta
The bubbly actress was spotted at the airport returning from the IPL. She looked great in a plain red tee and denims.
8) Sushmita Sen
Sush co-hosted a power luncheon for women with muralist and social worker, Rouble Nagi. She wore a high-waist pencil skirt and a shirt with a plaid vest (which we detest). Take the plaid vest and belt away and we’d be singing a different tune altogether.
9) Lisa Haydon
We don’t know how we feel about this. Lisa is such a pretty girl and it breaks our heart to see her dressed like that for the Fire & Ice gathering at Tote. We aren’t sure whether to categorise this bodysuit/dress under swimwear or lingerie.
10) Juhi Chawla
Juhi attended the Dadasaheb Phalke awards in a Manish Malhotra creation. The white churidar suit with gold embroidery looked gorgeous. A slim red border on her dupatta and blue-ended sleeves added a pop of colour to her ensemble. We think she looked simply beautiful.
