5 Designers to Check-Out At Lakme Fashion Week
You’re going to love us! We have more inside details for the upcoming Lakme Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2014. So far, we’ve featured some of the designers and their collections. But we knew you’d want more.
So here’s a five-in-one. Fashionistas, you’re welcome!
Koëcsh VIK by Krésha Bajaj is a brand that defines cool, fun and edgy fashion. When asked, Ms. Bajaj feels that, anyone who is not afraid to dress the way they want and not care about the world can carry off Koëcsh, for instance Nicki Minaj and Miley Cyrus. She suggests that in daily wear, one may create fun, edgy looks by working around a single piece of clothing or accessories and going bold.
Her prediction for Summer 2014 fashion is the funky fringe trend. So, ladies look out for this one!
Ken Fernandes is inspired by the 18th century Azulejo artwork, originally found on traditional Portuguese ceramic tiles in the interiors of churches, palaces and even ordinary houses. While the concept sounds regal, the actual outfits are easy to wear. For instance, you may use print-on-print like crop tops with funky bottoms.
According to him, the upcoming trend you may watch out for would be dropped shoulders, loose fit dresses, tops and more.
Are you a traveller at heart? Well, then you must check out ‘Flyaway flyaway’ Nishka Lulla’s collection for Fashion Week. Her designs are ideal for a traveller with a carefree mind and a happy heart. It is fuss-free and sensible. You may check out a range of separates and get functional and sporty looks. Her designs suggest that Summer 2014 will be a melange of different colour palettes, prints and embellishments.
Oh boy, we’re sure to check out her collection this week.
For Lakme Fashion Week, Shruti Sancheti brings Pondicherry to Mumbai. The former city is a melting pot of various cultures, which has been an inspiration to this designer. From Tamilian fabrics to European bohemian flavour, you will witness a confluence of cultures on her apparel.
Arpita Mehta took a holiday to the island of Mykonos, and came back with a design idea for her new collection – Paradiso. Needless to say, we may expect an ethereal range of indo-western silhouettes.
Her Summer/Resort collection will have hues of blues and yellows along with mirror work and falisa embroidery. From body suits, tulip pants, peplum style tops, and more; you will find everything a fashionista needs. Our suggestion – must see!
