Elegant Indian Heritage: Enter The Big Door in Mumbai
While passing by Ambedkar Road, you will see a BIG door that takes you inside a space that looks very culturally royal, with dim lights hanging low. You will wonder, is it a jewellery store? A vintage collectibles store? Close guess. Well, it is The Big Door in Mumbai. It’s a store that houses Indian jewellery, handcrafted home décor and heritage collectibles.
Started by Vivek and Sunita Gupta’s passion and love for Indian heritage products drove them to open this store at the foot of Pali Hill. Vivek’s experience in retail realty combined with the artistry from connoisseurs in Rajasthan, this space will appeal to all lovers of art.
Spread across 7,500 square feet, The Big Door will take you back to the richness of India’s past glory. It has precious and semi-precious jewellery by Ravi Jewels in Jaipur, inspired from the times of Mughal, Rajput and Nizam; pieces in polkis and jadau, silver and gold in intrinsic designs will grab your attention. They also undertake customization of jewellery here.
The interiors section of The Big Door has pieces sourced from across India. Marble fountains and jalis, bronze work from South India, Persian calligraphic fauna, antiques, intricate woodwork and traditional pichwai from Rajasthan are some of the home décor items you will find here.
