Expert Speak: 10 Honeymoon Destination Ideas by Divia Thani Daswani

Be it your honeymoon or your annual couple-y getaway, we’re always hunting for travel inspiration. Switzerland may be the safest best, but you’d like to go beyond where Yash Raj Films’ cameras have taken you, right?  We’re thinking a sky lit up like a music fest, the thrill of watching a kill in the middle of the night, or soaking in a whole new culture.

So here are some off the beaten honeymoon destination ideas from Editor-in-chief of Conde Nast Traveller, Divia Thani Daswani. You’re going to want to bookmark this. Fair winds!

1. Iceland

This year and next are considered the best in a century to view the amazing Northern Lights. It’s the perfect experience to have with your soul mate and not to mention that every photo you take of the scenery here will turn out to be frame-worthy.

2. Botswana

Botswana has beauty beyond words can describe. Be prepared for a couple of ‘You went where?’ reactions when you talk about your honeymoon trip. Just a warning — nothing can prepare you for the gorgeous Botswana safaris which give a glimpse into the beautiful wildlife in the area. Make sure you head over to Okavango Delta and explore the wildlife by private jet for a luxury experience.

3. Tasmania

It’s Australia, but off the beaten track! My must-visit spot in Tasmania is the Saffire Lodge that opens on to the beach and stuns you with an arresting view of the rainforest and pink granite mountains. Absolutely stunning and unbelievable.
