New Autumn Winter Collection in Store at Fuel

Fuel the Fashion store hosted an event at their Khar store to showcase the Autumn Winter Collection of designers Shruti Sancheti and Carina Advani to a select audience last evening.

Designer speak and a peek at their collections:

We got designers Shruti Sancheti and Carina Advani to get inonit and speak to us candidly about their inspirations for the collection.

Shruti Sancheti’s draws inspiration for her brand Pinnacle from the Buddhist philosophies of simplicity and harmony. Her autumn winter collection comprises of 2 lines. The 1st line is a vibrant festive line in keeping with the season and comprises of traditional Indian silhouettes like anarkalis, angarakhas, sarees with diverse surface ornamentation such as gota, cord work, kasab, pitta work, zardozi coupled with intricate printing techniques like foil, block prints and khaddi

The 2nd line is called “pearl of the orient” and is inspired by both south Asian countries and the northeastern part of India. It focuses on quirky silhouettes, myriad cultural influences, eclectic layering, contrasting hues and textures.  There is a strong bohemian vibe and of the majestic himalyan kingdoms and their nomadic legacy. This collection is an amalgamation of tribal v/s opulent, rustic v/s contemporary and traditional v/s glamour. Fabrics used are in hues of  olive green, azure blue, steel, grey, and mint green keeping a zen like feel in mind.

The collection by Carina Advani – Nautanki,  has lots of tie-dye, shading, bandhani, two tones and brocades. Its an east meets west – the designs are western but the fabrics used are very Indian. Keeping the festive season in mind, the clutches work beautifully with western outfits, but they also work well with Indian ensembles.
