Located in the by-lanes of Colaba, Alps Restaurant and Beer Bar is the place to go to if you want to have beer without splurging too much money. Although a bit noisy, it’s a great place to go hang out during the day, especially with a large group.

Spanish for beer, Cervaza is a small bar in Kala Ghoda with a formidable collection of beer. You can choose from different kinds of beer, both Indian and foreign, all under one roof. Due to the lack of space, we advise you go in small groups.

Starboard Bar

Enjoy a plethora of the finest Single Malts and Cognac along with a mind boggling array of international spirits, liquors and extensive wine list at Starboard Bar at the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel. The bar also has a dance floor for those who have their dancing shoes on.

Marina Bar

A little ahead of Radio Club, Marina Bar is on the ground floor of Sea Palace Hotel. It is a great place to catch up with friends over a couple of drinks. It is on the expensive side but the ambiance and service of the staff makes it worth every penny.

Volare Resto-Lounge is a great place for a large group to plan a night out. Good music, good service, good food and excellently mixed cocktails make it an ideal combination. An average pint of beer would cost around Rs. 250.

A wide variety of signature drinks, a selection of imported beer not found in most places in Mumbai and a stylish modern upscale ambiance makes Ellipsis an ideal destination for a night out. The prices are on the higher side. In fact it is one of the most expensive restobars in town.

Bayview Café

An open air café on the rooftop of Strand Hotel, it is good for small groups. There is no better feeling then having a beer in your hand while overlooking the Arabian Sea with a cold breeze blowing over you. The ambiance of the café gives you a very calm and relaxed feeling.

Café Mondegar

One of the only places in Mumbai which still has a jukebox, Café Mondegar is a place where you call for beer whether you go for breakfast, lunch or dinner. It is the perfect place if you want to go grab a couple of pints with friends, which are priced moderately at an average of around Rs. 70 a pint.

Sports Bar Express

With Euro 2012 going on, if you need a place to watch the match and cheer your team on, Sports Bar Express is what you’re looking for. Large group friendly, SBX provides a perfect atmosphere to watch the game with loud music and beer. Although it is slightly expensive, it makes for a fun two hours as there is no better way to watch a match than with beer and good music.

Want to drink but don’t have too much money to spend? Gokul is where you should be heading. A big hit among college students, Gokul is always crowded and noisy. Although the place is cramped and shady, it is extremely light on the pocket enabling you to grab a drink without making a hole in your pocket.

Leopold Café

Leopold Café was always a hit among tourists and locals alike. Always packed and on the expensive side (a pint of beer would cost you about Rs. 150), the beer towers, more often than not, ensure that you have a great time.

Headquarters (HQ’s)

HQ’s is located in the heart of Colaba, right above Café Royal. It is an old school English style pub. The bar is right in the centre of the pub thereby making it accessible from all four sides. The different cocktails served by the bartender are also great. They also have a wide array of beer. An average pint of Indian beer would cost you around Rs. 200.

Busaba is a tiny bungalow where you go for a cosy drink in contemporary surroundings which are tucked away behind the Taj hotel. Their Mojitos and Caipiroskas are highly recommended. Generally house and lounge music is played here.

Woodside Inn

Woodside Inn is a warm neighbourhood bar where people can catch up with one another or just meet over a couple of drinks. A cosy café, Woodside Inn is a favourite in terms of ambiance.
