From the guys behind the popular Woodside Inn comes a new all-day cafe at Kala Ghoda. Cocooned in the heart of Mumbai’s art district, this cafe has wide open seating area that comes with an open kitchen and bakery. Sourcing ingredients from different parts of the country, the cafe features a small menu that comprises salads, hand-pressed sandwiches, quiches, pies, fresh juices and signature shakes; all perfect for a hearty breakfast. Sip on their single-origin Indian coffees and teas as you bite into those country eggs. The cafe has an all-day breakfast menu. So if 3:00 pm is your early morning, you can still hope to catch on some breakfast for the day.

Piled up in a corner of an old and forgotten mill complex, Cafe Zoe is located in Lower Parel. With walls stripped bare down to their essentials, the crude looks works to create a unique ambience. Salt Water Cafe
So how would you like your eggs today? Sunny side up, eggs Benedict or would you rather opt for the Spanish omelette? No matter what your taste buds demand, Salt Water Cafe’s extensive preparation of eggs will fulfil it. Cereals, waffles, pancakes and a selection of breads also make an appearance at the menu. Patrons vouch for its Spanish omelette. Adds on of smoked salmon, bacon, chicken and pork sausages and rosemary baked beans are also available. And while you are at the restaurant, try out the bagel + cream cheese/scrambled eggs/smoked salmon that is served with a side of Rosti and roasted tomato.

Tucked away in a quiet corner in Malad, Grain and Bagel opened its doors to public in August, 2012. Introducing the residents to bagels, this gourmet bakery cafe has a menu inspired from European cuisine. You have a choice of omelettes, bagels, fluffy pancakes, salads and sandwiches. Bite into their signature Scrambled Egg and Chicken Bagel and the Multi Grain Bagel with Philadelphia Cheese.

Eat Around The Corner
Is it French, English or American that you prefer? Eat Around The Corner offeres three breakfast combinations that is available from 7:00 am to 11:00 am. The French Breakfast is priced at Rs. 210 and includes your choice of a breakfast bread served with fresh fruit or juice. The English one is priced at Rs. 315 where you get two eggs with your choice of bread, bacon or sausage, hash browns, grilled tomato, and baked beans. The American breakfast priced at Rs. 420 will allow you have two eggs or pancakes or waffles or French toast served with your choice of bread, cereal, hash browns, bacon or sausage, backed beans and juice. All three include a choice of hot beverage.

Serving healthy, fresh and nutritious food, Pico Express serves an extensive menu comprising sandwiches like Pesto Chicken and Goat Cheese and Beetroot along with Greek salads, wraps and soups. Targeted to the office crowd that can’t stop by for a leisurely breakfast, the outlet also has a grab and go option. Open from 8:30 am to 9:00 pm. Closed on Sundays.

Kala Ghoda Cafe
Their ABC (apple, beetroot and carrot) juice is probably famous among its patrons. Start with the KGC special sandwich with parmesan, lettuce and mayo or opt for the Chicken Cheese Salad Sandwich that features roasted chicken with lettuce, cheddar and mustard. And if you wish to stay away from bread, try the Chef’s salad that has lettuce, broccoli, grated carrots along with other seasonal vegetables and crushed almonds.

The Bagel Shop
We recommend The Bagel Shop on the days you feel like skipping the usual eggs fro breakfast. From Natural Cream Cheese bagel to Goan Sausages Bagel, Club Bagel and Grilled Beef Bagel, this small cafe has it all. End your meal with the fresh juices or shakes available that comes with an option of soya milk. And if you are in a hurry, grab a bite from theiur take away section.

Another restaurant that serves breakfast all day, the menu at Indigo Deli features porridge, toasted oats with yogurt and honey, stuffed eggs, fruit pancakes and couscous upma that comes witha dollop of peppery pineapple compote. Their Freshly baked Basket features croissants, doughnuts, muffins, brioche and toast with homemade preserves and honey. We’d recommend you try out their Eggs on the Beach; two poached eggs smothered with hollandaise and served with crispy bacon on crab cakes.
