InOnIt Guides: Clubs in Mumbai

We’re back with another edition of InOnIt Guides just for you. This weeks guide is in light of the Dhoble debacle that has gripped the city. We give you a list of the best clubs Mumbai has to offer. So gear up to paint the town red tonight,and make the most of our beloved city’s nightlife before Mr. Vasant Dhoble gets there.

Aurus

This fine-dining lounge doubles as a club after hours. Situated on Juhu Tara Road, this beach-front haunt has the perfect candle-lit ambience for a breezy night under the stars. It has been a favourite amongst the city’s social circuit. We highly recommend it for a fun night for two as well as a crazy night out with the whole gang.

Canvas

Great decor, great music and a menu that’s not hard on the pocket. What more could we want for an unforgettable night out? It’s spacious and not crowded unlike other clubs, which in our books makes it the ideal party destination.

Couple entry is free. Stags entry is Rs.1,000 and Rs. 2,000 on a Saturday after 11:00 pm.

China House

Visit this place if you want to get away from Bollywood music. Well known for playing some great house music, China House is a great place to unwind on the weekends. It is notable for their ambience and spacious decor, though it still tends to get quite crowded. Rub shoulders with some of Mumbai’s elite who frequent the club while letting loose on the dance floor.

Hawaiian Shack

Designed to resemble a shack-like bar on the beach, this would be a cosy place to unwind if it wasn’t congested with a huge crowd of people. It is frequented by college-going youth as well as a lot of stags. Visit both outlets for a varied range of good music with different sections playing different genres and alcohol that is extremely affordable for all.

Hype

Fancy interiors, cool lights, good music and a huge dance floor help this this place live up to its name. As the drinks are quite costly it is surprising that Hype is mostly frequented by teenagers. Open till 4:00 am on Saturday nights, you may even be lucky enough to catch owner, DJ Aqueel spin at the console.

LIV

This club has become a favourite amongst hip, young professionals in the city. The amazing sound system, starry roof and an impressive menu guarantees you a night to LIV it up!

Rehab

Rehab doubles as a fine dining place as well as a club. Although the space is quite confined, the dark lighting and multi-coloured lights on the ceiling set the right mood for a night of revelry. The commercial music with a mix of Bolly tunes adds to this. Pricing is not cheap but not too steep either.

Royalty

The club runs on the motto of making you feel like royalty which explains the super luxurious type of ambience with the help of gold and rich colours in the decor. Being 10,000 sq. feet big, the sheer size of the club adds to the royal charm and so do the extravagant prices of the drinks.

Shiro

One of the clubs with the best ambience hands down. The towering Buddha statue surrounded by rippling water and lovely lighting provides a zen-like atmosphere. They play a wide range of music which attracts crowds of all ages. Pricing is on the higher side but the vibe created by the decor makes it worth it.

Sutra

With a nice contemporary decor, laser lights and a big bar, Sutra has everything one looks for to party the night away. It is renowned for always playing the best of Bollywood as well as offering a varied range of cocktails at moderately expensive prices.

The High Lounge

The extremely fancy yet classy ambience, reflecting mirrors and blue lighting sets the mood for what you know is going to be a great night. Trilogy

Suave and stylish with cool colourful lights, Trilogy is currently on the top of the list of Mumbai’s hottest clubs. If you manage to get past the security at the door, you will be pleasantly welcomed with a great mix of music and a classy, hip crowd. Drinks are quite pricey but take it in your stride to dance the night away.

Tryst

The most popular club for college-going crowds in the city; the dimly-lit Tryst is surrounded with attractive LED lights that light up in sync with the music. However, the club gets extremely crowded on weekends and some may find the drinks over-priced, you can enjoy a good mix of house and hip-hop music spun by co-owner DJ Bunty himself.

Wink

Classy decor, unique bar snacks and an impressive wine list is what Wink scores on. It is no surprise then to always find a sophisticated crowd gathered here. They offer an exclusive drinks menu ranging from flaming cocktails to rare malts. There is always some good beats playing with a playlist consisting of house music no matter what night of the week. Wink definitely tops our list of “must-visits” hands-down.
