Most music lovers have a qualm between loving recorded music more or loving live performances more, or loving them equally. B69 by BAJAAO: B69 by BAJAAO is a small part of the kvlt music scene in Mumbai. Every weekend, they feature live acts by bands from genres of metal, alternative, funk and rock.

Hard Rock Cafe: The legendary Hard Rock Cafe may see a dwindling crowd as the underground and independent music scenes develop in Mumbai, but it still remains one of the better known venues in the city.

Blue FROG: In a very short period, Blue FROG made a mark on the list of live venues in Mumbai and has definitely made it to the top of the list. Apart from gigs almost every day, they also feature early sets and an in-house DJ.

Mehboob Studios: The famed Mehboob Studios has been home to the Bollywood industry for years, but it also has various miscellaneous gigs and is also home to the monthly/ bi-monthly Live From The Console gigs.

Bistro Grill: A multi-cuisine restaurant that serves an occasional live act once a week, Bistro Grill isn’t a full scale venue but has a small stage for a live musician so people can enjoy a drink or a bite with some live music.

Amadeus: NCPA’s Spanish cuisine and culture inspired restaurant is known to encourage music with sets by bands from across the city.

F Lounge.Bar.Diner: The new addition to the city’s lounge collection, F Lounge.Bar.Diner lives up to its hype of being a fashionable and chic eatery for Mumbai which hosts different DJ’s over the weekends.

Out of the Blue: With the tagline of There’s Always Something Happening, Out Of The Blue is no dull place to be, and especially since one of those happenings is live music acts.

Bonobo: Bonobo is one of the places you can rely on if you want to enjoy good music and have a good night, particularly if you are a fan of Electronic Dance Music. They have their own in-house DJ and sport quite a few acts during the week.

Candies: More of a hub for youngsters to chill out during the week, Candies does host a few good upcoming musicians to entertain their audiences when they organise their occasional sales and bazaars.

Bandstand: With the only complain being that it is at the very end of Bandra and quite secluded when it comes to transport convenience, the amphitheatre at Bandstand fort is scenic, enclosed amid a hill on one side and trees on the other sides. It has hosted many concerts and musical events.

Dadar Chowpatty: In a secluded spot at the Dadar Chowpatty beach, the amphitheatre looks like a regal venue which has hosted many gigs over the years.

Carter Road: The amphitheatre at Carter Road is an open air stage, with limited seating. It is used by many people for events and has hosted live music on many occasions.

Hanging Gardens: Set among the luscious green of trees and shrubs, the amphitheatre at Hanging Gardens is an excellent venue for a blend of nature and music when live gigs happen here.
