Mamagoto: Asian Café Opens in Mumbai

With the diverse culinary palates of Mumbai’s foodies comes the expansion of restaurants with new flavours and different cuisines. Another such restaurant to join this space, coming from Delhi, is Mamagoto by Azure Hospitality. The brainchild of Rahul Khanna and Kabir Suri, Mamagoto is a new pan Asian eatery that will open its signature yellow doors to Mumbaiites at two new outlets, in Bandra and Ghatkopar.
Expect a contemporary and relaxed ambience with quirked up interiors, bright and colourful wall art and Chinese décor. And the same ideology will apply to the food as well, what with the literal translation of the restaurant being ‘to play with food’.
How do they play with food? They say that the chefs at the restaurant have experimented with new flavours and textures, inspired by the Japanese experiment involving infants to use their senses to understand the shapes and textures of food.
Conceptualized and overseen by Asian food expert Jayanti Duggal, the menu at Mamagoto comprises the authentic Japanese Robata grill and Thai delicacies among other delights.
You can try dishes like Rock Shrimp Tempura with signature Chili Mayo, Khau Suey, Mamagoto Chicken wrap, the Beijing Seafood Soup, Grilled Fish with South East Asian dressing from their extensive list.
Desserts include options such as Caramel Sponge Cake with Toffee Sauce or the homemade Coconut and Palm Sugar ice cream.
Mamagoto will be open every day from 2nd May 2013 onwards and you can call on 022 26552600 (Bandra outlet) or 022 66401860 (Ghatkopar) for more details.
Say ni hao (hello!) to Oriental cuisine this May!
