Marc Jacobs Ends His Reign At Louis Vuitton
Design icon, Marc Jacobs has sent the world of fashion and luxury in a tizzy with the announcement of him renouncing his position of Creative director of Louis Vuitton. The American designer has sat on the throne of heading the French fashion house for 16 years now and is responsible for turning it around from being boring and dated to the trendy and classy label we know today.
His contract is due to expire at the end of the year and he has taken the decision keeping in mind his namesake brand ‘Marc Jacobs’ which has grown immensely popular and he wishes to take it to the next level. Marc confirmed the news at the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2014 show held on Wednesday which for him was like an ode to Paris as he is set to leave the city and return to New York where his company is based.
After a super successful stint with the luxury brand, Marc Jacobs leaves Louis Vuitton with very big shoes to be filled in. Though a successor hasn’t been named as yet, rumour has it that there is a vast list of possible names. Sit tight though, Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy may make an announcement at the end of the month.
We’re sorry to see you go Marc but we can’t wait to see what surprises you have up your sleeve for your own brand!
