Meher Chand Market: The New Cool Spot in the Capital
Headed back to Delhi on a work or leisure trip? If you’ve kept a day aside for some girly indulgence, then this time skip your usual trip to Promenade / Emporio again, or even Khan Market. We’ve scoured the capital’s cool new indie spot, and put together a day just for you. All you need to do is follow in our fancy footsteps and let us lead the way to Meher Chand Market.
10.30 am- Head straight to the upstairs section of Chez Nini where you’ll feel like you walked into a sunbathed Parisian cafe. Admire Segard’s trademark art, settle back into a table near the window, order a cold pressed juice, work your way to wheat free pancakes or their famous cronut of the day.
12 noon- Before spinning, most girls worked off those calories by shopping. Soothe your soles with the designs at Taramay. There’s a particular burnt peach brogue sporting an exquisite laser cut design. Also, on display are red velvet smoking slippers complete with tassels. As if you needed any convincing!
1 pm- Don’t skunk around in the adjoining alley, head instead to vintage store ‘Lovebirds’. You’ll probably enter to La vie en Rose playing in the background (feel free now to act like the heroine in your own life movie). Perhaps choose from their small but gorgeous collection of hats. We know their cream coloured victorian with a corsage and a ribbon on its hem will go exquisitely with their sailboat embroidered denim shirt. If you’re lucky, you’ll find among their fresh cake of the day- heart shaped orange and barley cookies. America’s sweetheart will have nothing on you by now.
2 pm – To pull that whole outfit together, with an edge only like you can, head to Nappa Dori and pick up their small size trunk, which doubles as a disturbingly large bag for post dinner drinks. We recommend the cocoa hued one with black leather straps. Trying to fit a body into it is a waste of time, take it from us.
