Member Review: Bamboo Tree All Day Spa
Nested in the leafy by-lanes of Bandra was the very aptly named Bambooo Tree All Day Spaa. The surroundings are open and tranquil and the interiors are also in sync.
After being attended promptly by a courteous receptionist, I chose their signature Bambooo tree massage of 75 minutes duration, priced at Rs. 3000. I was totally taken aback when my feet were submerged in a tub with tiny fish – a preliminary fish pedicure that lasted for 10 minutes – saw me squirming in ticklish delight. I was then ushered into the massage room that was not too large but equipped with all the necessary paraphernalia. It presented a picture of cleanliness and order. My masseuse Miss Awom, a lady from Tripura is one of the two masseuses Bambooo Tree entered the room. She enquired whether I wanted treatment for any physical problem and what intensity of pressure would I prefer – mild, medium or intense – I chose the last option.
Awom has had training in massage for 2 years. The next 75 minutes was sheer bliss. I was in very good hands, for sure. At times, the intense pressure applied made it seem like I was being kneaded like dough, there was nothing but relief and comfort when it was all over. The Bambooo tree printed wallpaper and the serene hymn of the Buddhist chants evoked a sense of peace and calm.
75 minutes had flitted by so quickly. When I returned to the lounge, I was offered a herbal drink that was soothing. The spa head enquired politely whether I had enjoyed my massage and was interested in my feedback.
Though the treatment is priced at a steep Rs.3000, the satisfaction level it offered was fain compensation. All in all, a very pleasurable experience worth recommending and repeating.
