If you are waiting for that chance to get away from city-life during the monsoons and are in pursuit of solitude and rejuvenation, Amboli ghats is your escape. A tranquil hill station that is faced by the tree lined sandy ribbon of the Konkan coast on one side and a plethora of green valleys on the other three, there are thousand waterfalls gushing down the hills during the rains. Unwind, relax, go for long walks or just meander through the misty forests.
Day 1 starts with an overnight journey towards Amboli and Day 2 involves a visit to Hiranyakeshi Temple and Nangartas Waterfall. This followed by a relaxed evening at kawle saad point (Echo Point) which has a reverse flow of waterfall. In the chilly weather, one can experience a thrilling night trail in Amboli forests with wild life experts where exotic species of reptiles, amphibians and mammals can be spotted. Become an expert in rice farming on Day 3 in the paddy fields. Mudbathing is an option if you want to get down and dirty and get refreshed under the waterfall. After visiting Mahadevgad Point and Shirgaonkar Point in the evening, a campfire session in the fog brings an end to an exciting day. Proceed back to Mumbai via Kolhapur on Day 4 and try some authentic Kolhapuri dishes on the way.
The 3 day trip organised by Mumbai Travellers costs Rs. 4900 per person which includes transportation, food, accommodation and activity charges.
