Pursuit Of The Ridiculous With New Works
Chemould Art Gallery is playing host simultaneously to two different solo exhibitions.
With New Works, artist Ritesh Meshram uses the found object as the starting point of his narrative. He draws his inspiration neither from the history of the object nor from what it stands for. The artist finds a new story and a new form wherein he puts together the found object, arranges it and then deranges it indicating the importance of the material used. His works revolves around his fascination with the shape and design of the object.
Bhuvanesh Gowda's Pursuit of the Ridiculous also revolves around the idea of objects where he has used wood, enamel paints, chrome plated iron and cement concrete to create minimalistic sculptures.
