What is SS’14 going to be like according to Neeta Lulla?
Bright and tropical colors ,easy silhouettes and comfort wear with a trend that is inspired by global awareness
Tell us more about your Indo-western diffusion line for LFW. Is it aimed at the younger fashionista of today?
It is aimed at the young fashionista of today whose style evolves with the advent of every trend she also requires simplicity, comfort and flexibility of utility. My collection employs uncomplicated cuts to create easy silhouettes including paired separates that proposes unique choices. The obvious plainness of the garments belies the sensual undertone upon which the collection has been built.
The time leading up to a fashion show is hectic to say the least. Tell us about your typical month when a big show looms large.
Endless working days thinking, rethinking new designs,putting together a look, garment production and working against time on embroideries and then working on the guest list putting together music and the list goes on.
A gross fashion error you see too many women make today?
Buying brands don’t make you fashionistas.
Absolute must-have closet staples a girl needs for the months to come?
Well cut jeans, a well finished white shirt, elegant basic outfits in neutral colors. A smart bag and a few interesting accessories.
Do you remember the very first outfit you designed? How did your journey as a designer start?
A film costume for Kimi Katkar which was disastrous and needed to be reworked overnight. And that is how my journey started.
