Photographers Boycotting Salman, Nargis, Alia, Varun and Sushmita?
Of late, the photographer community does not seem to be getting along with Bollywood. A few weeks ago, Shraddha Kapoor was banned by photographers for allegedly making them wait for hours and then refusing to strike a pose. (The ban was lifted only once she apologised to the community.)
And now we hear there are more stars (or their publicists and event managers?) who have antagonised photographers at their press events this weekend.
Looking for pics from the Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania screening this past Friday? They’ll be hard to find. Reportedly, the publicist abused the photographers, so they decided not to share any images of Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt with us. And apparently will not be sharing any until the ban is lifted. Come on, guys! Get your PR machines working.
The Kick promotional event with Salman Khan and Nargis Fakhri was boycotted as the security guards and the photographers got into a fight. So for now you will see reports of the event, devoid of any images, in any of the major publications and websites. Such as this one! We searched and searched, and only found them here.
And finally, yesterday’s Sushmita Sen event at a jewellery store has also been boycotted. Again, we heard it’s because of some past issue with the PR who was handling the event.
Bollywood, you’re stepping on thin ice. Haven’t you heard the saying, ‘Never piss off your hairdresser, chef or photographer?’
Oh all right, you might not have. But be aware—in our insta-world, the philosophy is that if a pic wasn’t clicked, the event may not have happened at all!
And photographers, we were of course not around so don’t know what got you SO mad, but maybe there is a way to settle this amicably without placing bans?
