Quality Of Fabric And Breathtaking Prints Is What Sets Us Apart
The East Mill is a unique apparel brand that will be participating at DIVAlicious in Mumbai on 15th October at Blue Sea, Worli. Watch out for this fusion brand that blends the best of Pakistani and Indian designs with Western trends for an exquisite range of apparel that does not come with an over the top price tag. Owner Roopali, gives us a few reasons to stop by and re-invent our personal style.
What is the difference in the shopping mentality of people in Mumbai as compared to people in Dubai?
Mumbai buyers love to experiment which is what I love about them! They are open to changing their look and trying different styles. The Dubai crowd still ‘follows’ trends and can be change averse when it comes to experimenting with one’s look.
What’s the inspiration between your creations?
We don’t want to bind our clients with heavy outfits. Prints always rock! Inspiration comes from anywhere and everywhere that helps us create unique prints. One can alter their look pairing prints up with trend or elite accessories, or just go the girl-next-door way! However, we will be stocking a limited edition of semi-formals as well.
What’s the theme of your products that will be on sale at DIVAlicious?
Versatile prints and also beautifully embroidered outfits that are one of a kind.
There are so many brands and designers taking part in the exhibition, why should a shopaholic visit yours? What sets you apart?
The quality of fabric and the breathtaking prints is what sets us apart. These Pakistani collections are not easily available in India and even if someone does trade in them, the dresses are sold at very high prices. The versatility of the prints make them easy to wear to a house party, Pooja function or even to a mall. The trendy prints can be stitched in different ways to achieve a Indo-western look as well.
What’s your personal favourite product from your collection that will be on sale at DIVAlicious?
It’s hard to pick! I have an inclination towards the brighter colour tones though.
Since you specialize in fusion fashion, what is the perfect balance between Indian and Western wear to attain a trendy fusion look?
The newest trend these days are kurtas with palazzo style pants or elephant pants, which is a trendy fusion of Indian and Western wear. The dupatta can be styled as a stole or can be used as extra fabric as panels in order to add more flair to a funky anarkali. Jazz them up with funky accessories or to-kill-for shoes! Perfect balance!
