Review: Deliciae – The Dessert Café
The week gone by was a dessert-filled week in office. After having a lot of cookies and other cheese and cupcakes, it was time for some more. Building our appetite, we waited for some goodies from a patisserie – Deliciae, derived from the word delicious.
Well, all that glitters is not gold and very rarely do we get a combination of a bold and beautiful. Likewise, the Blueberry and Tiramisu cupcakes looked highly appealing, but the dessert session gave rise to mixed reactions. The blueberry cupcake was dressed with a fresh cream and blueberries on top. However, while the cupcake was yummy, the blueberry icing sent signals of a disproportion of corn flour. The syrupy blueberry filling was a tad to sweet for our taste.
What we tried next was the Tiramisu cupcake. The light brown icing made our mouth water and was indeed yummy! The filling and frosting pampered our sweet tooth even with the cocoa dusted on the cream. The cupcake however, did not do complete justice to the delicious icing on top and the flavours were not as pronounced as we would have hoped.
Deliciae has outlets in Khar and Powai. This dessert café prepares cakes, brownies, mousses, cheesecakes and lots more, both with egg and eggless. To drink, it has hot as well as cold coffees, not forgetting the milkshakes. Deliciae also undertakes orders for wedding and anniversary cakes, birthday character cakes, party orders on all deserts and customized gifting.
One of my personal favorites is their Belgian chocolate cake, so do give it a try next time you’re looking to order a birthday cake!
