Trend Tracker: Accessories for Spring 2014
While every other fashionista is talking about crop tops, radiant orchid and other fads in vogue, we give you a round-up of the trending accessories for Spring 2014. From grungy backpacks, athletic stilettos and feminine jewelry, here are some of the most stylish bags, statement jewelry, shoes and other add-ons from fashion runways that are a must-have for this season.
1. Fringe Benefits
Whether you would like to carry them long or short, various versions of fringe bags are now highly coveted by every fashion lover. No wonder, many of our Hollywood drama queens (read Miley Cyrus, Kim Kardashian and Lindsay Lohan) have already taken a liking to this buzz-worthy trend.
2. Back to School
Chanel’s grungy backpacks reminds us of our obsession with a Jansport one that we carried most of our junior college, only this time the trend has gotten cooler with spray-painted graffiti.
3. The Clutch Connection
From opulent embellishments, drawstrings, quilted portfolios, trash-bag shaped clutches and many more out of the box ideas, we are grateful to designers for giving our beloved accessory a much-needed makeover this year.
4. We are Now Open!
Says so the collar necklace that is in spotlight this spring. We saw various designers ditching the clasp closures and keeping these statement neck pieces open-ended. We totally heart the classic headphones with over-sized pearls at Chanel’s show.
5. Say it with a Sign
If like us, you too love subtle yet stylish jewelry, zodiac signs and one-word pendants is just the trend for you.
6. It’s a Long Story
We love the fusion of sexy and sporty style statements spotted on the runways and topping out list are the lace-up sandals by Roberto Cavalli and athletic rendition of Gladiator sandals by Rebecca Minkoff. We could live happily ever after with a pair (or two) of these.
7. Older and Visor?
Sun visors often sported by golf players got a major makeover this season. We can’t wait to try a DIY version of the embellished one we saw at Marni’s show. Derby hats, you may stay indoors for a while.
8. Metal Heads
While flower power continues to ride the spotlight when it comes to hair accessories, we suggest you make a statement with leather headbands and alternate versions with crystal and gem embellishments to stay in fashion.
We hope you’ll add to your outfits by giving these accessory trends a shot.
