The Countdown Begins: Lakme Fashion Winter Festive 2012

Fashion fanatics can breathe a sigh of relief as the biggest and most prestigious event of the Indian fashion industry is back once again. Lakme Fashion Week Winter Festive begins on August 3rd till August 7th at the Grand Hyatt. We can already feel the buzz of excitement as style enthusiasts gear up for parties, eclectic doses of creativity, all things vogue and of course the glamour quotient that goes hand in hand with one of India’s biggest fashion events.

With a total of 86 designers showcasing their collections, it is sure to be a visual treat enough to tickle every fashion bone in your body. Be sure to catch some established fashion industry favourites like Anita Dongre, Neeta Lulla, Shivan & Naresh, Priyadarshini Rao and Wendell Rodricks. Kallol Datta and Pankaj & Nidhi  will be presenting the grand finale on 7th August.

What we are most excited about is that they are encouraging a lot of new talents to showcase and be on the forefront. These young, new designers are sure to bring to the table an even wider set of skilled crafts, cuts and designs.

Ritika Bharwani’s Midnight Soiree

Some new designers to look out for are:

Ritika Bharwani: The young, dynamic designer’s collection, Midnight Soiree is an expression of modern contemporary architecture through geometric motifs on dramatic yet structured silhouettes.

Sannam Chopra (Accessory Designer): Medieval Pop is the inspiration behind the collection which includes the use of Swarovski crystals, metal rivets, chains and leather protectors add a certain edge to the jewellery.

Aniket Satam: An eccentric and fun collection using busts of colour and textures. The designer has worked on ensembles like scribbled pieces of paper with stained ink and blotches of gleaming hope thus celebrating the secret author of our own karma- our own self.
