Things-To-Do: A Long Weekend Ahead

Have you been looking forward to the long weekend? But, more importantly, do you have plans for this long weekend? If not, then you have come to the right place and we may be able to help you find a place in and/or around Mumbai to do something this coming week.

For starters, wake up early enough and you may get a sweet bite of dough to eat with Bombay Baking Company’s new menu, or you could sleep in head out for dimsum at The Tasty Tangles. If you are looking for something in particular to tickle your taste buds, the Mewar Festival at Saffron may just be the place for you to enjoy some tasty Rajasthani dishes.

This Friday, 23rd March, has the start of OPA’s Bar Nights, where you could sip some cocktails and unwind to the live scratching of their in-house DJ. And if you love classical Hindustani music, Pandit Sharad Sathe will be flexing his vocal chords at Swatantryaveer Savarkar Sabhagraha on 24th March from 5 pm onwards. The complete address is Swatantryaveer Savarkar Sabhagraha, 252, Swatantryaveer Savarkar Marg, Shivaji Park, Dadar (W), Mumbai 400 028.

Come Sunday, 25th March, and the city will spring to life with a Colaba Tree Walk initiated by Mocha Treehuggers where you can increase your awareness of the beautiful trees along the Colaba stretch between 8 am and 9:30 pm. The walk starts at Regal Theatre, Apollo Pier Road, Colaba. For more details and registrations, call 9167727782. After the walk, if you have worked up an appetite, Emperor’s Court has a grand spread for its Sunday Brunch, bringing together different Pan Asian cuisines for a tiresome treat. After the brunch you can head for a few drinks to Escobar’s Sunday Sundowner, an All-White party to enjoy the setting sun and scenic view.

For all those interested in spending a lot of time in stores, be sure to check out the spring-summer collections on show at Blackberrys and Vanilla Moon.

With the arrival of summer, most schools would be closing for vacations. To get your children enrolled in a few wilderness survival camps, check Life Away From Life’s upcoming schedule.
