Things-to-do: Beach Fairs and Wine with Pani Puri
Hello folks! This week, shopaholics can look forward to a splurging Sunday at an exhibition of 60 designers’ works coming together over brunch and music. There is also a wine and pani puri dinner that will break all norms of wine pairing, a free workshop on chilled summer drinks and a blood donation camp at different venues in Mumbai. Stay in on it.
5th May – This Sunday, head to the Princess Beach Fair exhibition at Sea Princess, Juhu for some much need splurging. Spend an afternoon with sprawling cabanas by the sea, brunch+sundowner+EDMusic+IPL and lots of shopping of course. 60 fresh brands and designers from across India such as Namha from Dubai, Akruti from Delhi, Tina K, Deepika Preeti, Confusion Fashion accessories, Maal Gaadi and others will be showcasing their works. Choose from fashionable clothes, accessories, bags and everything trendy. The exhibit will take place this Sunday i.e. 5th May 2013 from 1 pm till 12 am.
9th May – Give a gastronomic twist to your Thursday by pairing your wines with some rasam and pani puri! Yes, you read that right. All Things Nice will be hosting a wine dinner, where dishes like Vada Pao, Kaffir Lime Rassam, Roasted Pomelo Salad, Rataloo Tikki Chaat and Pani Puri will be a part of your meal. The dinner will start at 9 pm sharp at Pali Bhavan, Pali Naka in Bandra on Thursday. May onwards – Recently opened French restaurant The Pier in Colaba will now be open for lunch too. Along with the original a la carte, they will also have a fixed power lunch menu costing Rs. 800 comprising soup of the day, unlimited salad, desserts and a set main course. Special dishes like Roasted Potato and Scallion Salad and Pan Seared Basa with Garlic Cream Sauce will be a part of their lunch menu. The package also includes a choice of beer/wine or a soft drink with your meal. The lunch offer is on from Tuesday to Saturday from noon till 3 pm. 9th May – In this scorching heat, a chilled glass of absolutely anything can do wonders. But how about making your own delish summer coolers to beat the heat? Head to Foodhall at Palladium this Thursday to attend a master class by Chef Anthony David of Haagen Dazs (yes!) to learn some cool and innovative summer drinks and desserts for free (double yes!). 4th May – This Saturday, attend a fully redeemable skin care make-up class by Jean-Claude Biguine in Bandra. The workshop will teach you effective techniques to look good, with experts showing you how to enhance your best features and simplify your beauty regimes. The class will include advice on Indian skin tone, tips on eyebrows and lashes, maintaining skin this summer and monsoon and also a goodiebag in the end! 8th May – Manchester United Café has collaborated with Indian Red Cross Society to donate 100 litres of Blood on World Red Cross Day. Between 2 pm and 8 pm on Wednesday, blood vans will be situated near the cafes outlets in Palladium, Malad and Ghatkopar. You will have to take a ‘fill up card’ from the café, which they will be providing till 7th May, to donate your blood.
