Events and Shows
14th, 15th, 16th, 21st February – Bonjour India, a cultural programme between France and India that includes art cinema, fashion, photography and the performing arts is back. Among 15 cities that will play host to 150 cultural events, Mumbai will see the stage adaptation of the novels called Gates to India Song, A love story by Marguerite Duras with Nandita Das. The show will take place on 14th and 15th Feb at 9 pm and on 16th Feb at 6 and 9 pm at Prithvi Theatre, and on 21st Feb at 7 pm at NCPA in Mumbai. You can book your tickets on Book My Show.
Till 19th February – Samsara Art is organizing a show this weekend at Gallery Le Sutra in Bandra. The show titled CARD-O-LOGY III, is curated by Jasmine Shah Varma and it will have works in the size and form of postcards. You can view the works between 11 am and 7 pm starting tomorrow i.e. 16th February 2013. The exhibition travels to Powai, Mumbai from February 22 to 24, to the restaurant Out of the Blue. 20th February – Slow Down Clown, a folk/punk rock band from Mumbai that bridges the gap between townies and suburbans is going to perform their debut album Forget The Night at Blue Frog. 17th February – Head to Aer at the Four Seasons Hotel this Sunday for a chic sundowner party and chill out while watching the beautiful skyline of Mumbai at dusk. Presented by Belvedere Vodka, the fourth edition of the sundowner will see The Electroverts: Nine Shah and Malika Hayden present an eclectic set. 22nd February – The Table is hosting a pop-up restaurant with international Chefs Evan and Sarah Rich, where they will serve a 4-course set menu meal on 22nd evening at the restaurant. The price per person for the food is Rs. 3,500 + taxes, service charge and beverages. A deposit of Rs. 1,000 per person will be taken in advance to secure a table. 21st to 23rd February – MD of DBS Office Business Centres, Perveez Aggarwal is holding an exhibition of her collection titled My Beautiful Embroideries, which reflects on the traditional Parsi Gara style. What differentiates Perveez’s embroideries from others is the fusion of Chinese, Persian and Indian techniques that go way back in time. The Parsi embroidery builds upon symbols of flora and fauna, telling a delicate and enchanting story using embroidery and silk. 16th February – Join a pastry masterclass at APB Cook Studio and learn baking techniques from pastry expert SaeeKoranne-Khandekar. She will teach you how to make shortcrust pastry, sweet shortcrust pastry, choux pastry and biscuit pastry. The class costs Rs. 4,000 per person and will take place on Saturay from noon till 5 pm. 17th February – This Sunday, World for All Animal Care and Adoptions will be hosting a One-Stop-Adopt show for all the kittens and pups looking for homes via the NGO, where you can meet the cute pets and take them home. All pups and kittens are Indian/mixed breeds and well looked after at foster-homes, bathed, deflead, dewormed and healthy.
