Things to do in Mumbai: Beer-ful Days Ahead!
One can never fall short of things to do in Mumbai. Here’s our list this week:
FOOD AND NIGHTLIFE
29th September till 10th October – Celebrate Oktoberfest at The Daily in Bandra and dedicate two weeks of your life to the love of your life – beer! Every day during those dates, between 7 pm and 1:15 am, indulge in an array of special dishes for Oktoberfest such as German sausages, pretzels and potato salad. Of course, that will be accompanied with a lot of beer, 14 different types to be precise. The music will vary from Bavarian folk to retro rock through the evening. Beer-y good!
1st October – Don’t let the week’s beginning bring down your party spirit. Head to Club Alibi (that used to be Prive) on Tuesday night for electro maniac sessions. Let yourself lose as DJ Swap and DJ Chetas work the console with EDM vs. BDM beats. It will be all about contrasting music – so expect electronic dance music vs. bollywood music! Call on 9819300772 for reservations.
3rd October – Beer guzzlers can head down to Colaba on Thursday 3rd October 2013 to Woodside Inn, as they are hosting their quarterly beer tasting workshop. Named Be-er Man, it costs Rs. 999 and involves tasting and appreciation of 6 international beers, and a free large mug of draft beer too. The workshop will take place from 7 pm till 8:30 pm and you can call on 022 22025525 to register.
5th and 6th October – Indulge yourself in Vintage Wonderland on 5th and 6th October as Back Alley invites you to their Thrift Shop, where you can browse through a range of pretty skirts, dresses, tops, blazers, Indian wear, menswear, accessories, home décor and more. With brands like Diesel, River Island, Karen Millen, French Connection, Armani Exchange and Roberto Cavalli, there will also be vintage pieces to add to your collection. You will be shopping for a cause as the proceeds will go to Inner Wheel Charities.
The sale will be on from 1 pm till 7 pm on Saturday, and from 11 am till 7 pm on Sunday at Kinnaril Cultural Center, Opposite Umar Park, Bhulabhai Desai Road, Next To Tata Garden, Breach Candy, Cumballa Hill, Mumbai 400026.
2nd October – Celebrate Gandhi Jayanti at High Street Phoenix in Lower Parel as they are organizing a Charkha Workshop and Book Sale by Gandhi Book Centre. The event will take place at the Courtyard of the mall from noon till 7 pm. There will also be a dance performance by the children of Nalanda Foundation as a mark of respect. Learn to spin the wheel, just like Bapuji!
29th October – Adventure enthusiasts can prepare themselves for a trek taking place in October with Life Away from Life. The picturesque Sahyadri Hills of Maharashtra is where you will be taken on 29th October 2013, which is a popular trekking destination with historic preserved forts. Get to notice the pandhri trees, of which walking sticks are made, and visit Bhorapgad, an ancient fort 590 meters in height. To register, call on 022 66096693 or 9869158351.
