18th July – Chez Moi in Oshiwara is all set to convert into a Boiler Bar on Thursday, 18th July. Groove to a combination of twisted jazz and electronic trance as Skydrops and Spiral take over the console. The event will take place from 9 pm till 1 am and there is a cover charge of Rs. 300 post 9 pm.
12th July onwards – Every Friday, brewpub The Barking Deer will take you back in time with Retro Nights from 7 pm onwards. Move to the classic beats of MJ, Madonna, U2, Prince and other iconic artistes from that era. Call on 022 61417400 for reservations.
July onwards – The future holds great opportunities. Must dwell on that thought, while you sip on coffee that you will order from Di Bella Coffee India’s Mobile Application. This newly launched app will allow you to pre order coffee and pick it up from your nearest Di Bella outlet, or order wherever you are. Caffeine addicts must rejoice!
July onwards – The Irish House has new additions to its existing food menu. We only want to talk about it so someone can go try their Steak ‘n Kidney Pie and tell us how it was. Other dishes include Beer Can Chicken, Drunken Mushrooms, Prawns on a High, Community Hummus Platter, Mini Burgers and Three Little Dogs amongst others. Seven new Irish whiskies and single malts too have been added to the bar. What a drunken menu!
15th to 31st July – Sahara Star is celebrating Mumbai monsoons by introducing an array of desi snacks at Earthplate such as pakode, pani puri, spicy chaat, kababs, Kolkatta rolls, Nadru ke gullar (Lotus stem), Galouti ki potli and more. They also have a range of traditional drinks like sweet and salty lassis, flavored iced teas, hot ginger masala teas and more. 13th July – Spend your Saturday afternoon tossing some patties on a grill because Woodside Inn along with Comida is hosting a burger making class on Saturday to kick off their Beer and Burger Festival. The workshop will be held in the Andheri branch, where patrons will learn to cook burgers from different meats and season them, how to shape their burgers and more. Mexican Beef Burger and Chicken Teriyaki Burger are on the list – it costs Rs. 1,500 and will take place from 4 till 6 pm. 16th July – On this coming Tuesday, attend an exclusive cooking class and interactive session with the executive chef of Indigo Deli, JD at R City Mall, Ghatkopar. To be held between 4:30 and 7 pm, learn dishes such as soup of baby carrot with ginger and coconut cream, soufflé of creamed corn and bacon with salad of toasted almonds, peach and fennel, lasagna a la Indigo Deli, peach crepes with Philly cheese and brandy. 12th to 14th July – NCPA launched Bandish three years ago, in an attempt to celebrate Indian music. And it’s back with its fourth edition “Bandish 2013 – A tribute to legendary composers”. The three-day festival will showcase works of eminent artistes and composers of the subcontinent such as Mirza Ghalib and Faiz Ahmad Faiz, Shrikrishna Ratanjankar (Sujaan), Vilayat Hussain Khan (Pranpiya) to name a few. 12th and 13th July – Alice is coming from Wonderland to Ave 29 this weekend, 8 pm on Friday and 7 pm on Saturday. Based on Lewis Carroll’s novel, Choiti Ghosh will use objects, puppets, shadows and actors for this play. Watch the age old story that has multiple dimensions to it – when four people decide to leave their mundane lives and make a short make-belief getaway of their own.
