Things-to-do: Pub Crawl, Eco Holi and Earth Hour

Hello happy people! We list down today, how you can celebrate the festival of colours in a safe and natural way. 23rd March – This Saturday, join The Great Bombay Bar Crawl started by BestofBombay.com and liquor store Hops Cork En Bottle and bar hop your way through South Mumbai. The crawl starts at 8 pm from Busaba in Colaba, where you will be travelling in an open-top bus, and it will cover places like HQs, Saffron Bay and Dome. 22nd March – Tonight, head to Aurus in Juhu to watch DJ Breger spin some unexpected beats of brute techno mixed with deeper and minimalistic sounds. March 2013 onwards – Out of the Blue restaurant has introduced the Tasting Corner at their venue in Bandra, where the guests can get a preview of what to expect at the restaurant in the coming months and get introduced to different varietals food & wine. The Tasting Corner will host food and wine pairing and free tasting portions will be provided to the patrons on all days of the week. The idea is to get feedback from the guests and make them aware of the latest happenings at the restaurant.

 

March 2013 onwards – Travel the world through food at The Lalit, Mumbai as they host a buffet of different cuisines every day from Monday to Saturday at their 24×7 restaurant – The 24 HR Café. 21st to 31st March – Indulge in the royal cuisine of the Rampuri Nawabs at Kebab Korner at Intercontinental Marine Drive this month. Chef Mujeebur-Rehman, a descendent of the khansamas of the Wajid Ali Shah era, has specially flown in from Lucknow to Mumbai to introduce this cuisine that includes dishes like Bhune Meve Ka Shorba, Ghuti Daal Ka Nawabi Shorba, Paneer Ambali, Samak Korma- Fish Curry, Nawabi Gosht Ishtu, Tahiri Peelibhit Ki and more. Events and Shows

26th March – Witness the last and final segment of the Indo-French Festival – Bonjour India 2013 called Amarillis, a musical ensemble and currently one of the most original baroque orchestras in Europe. Founded in 1994 and led by its artistic director, Héloïse Gaillard and the harpsichordist Violaine Cochard, Amarillis was soon distinguished by its acoustic exploration, its high instrumental technique and the enthusiastic response of audiences. Watch the performance at NCPA, Nariman point on Tuesday at 7 pm.

 

22nd to 24th March 2013 – NCPA is hosting the third year of Vasant: Gujarati Natya Utsav that marks a space for offbeat, eclectic Gujarati theatre that goes beyond mainstream acts. The third edition will witness three new plays from Mumbai and Ahmedabad. From Karl Marx to Krishna to Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, this weekend will have Gujarati folks laughing on political humour to experiencing historical reinterpretation and mythological retelling. Environment

Till 27th March – Join the Mocha TreeHuggers initiative to celebrate a safe, natural and environment-friendly Holi by using eco colours. They are hosting a Green Table at all outlets of Mocha, which will sell skin-friendly gulaal that is free of harmful chemicals. 23rd March – On Saturday, do your bit for the environment that you live in by observing Earth Hour. Between 8:30 and 9:30 pm, save electricity by shutting down lights, fans, TVs etc. An hour of peaceful silence and fresh air, why not give back to nature what it gives us every day?
