Hello, hello! This weekend is all about enjoying all kinds of music genres as most nightclubs have an assortment of DJs spinning their best tunes. Workshops

14th and 15th June – Comida, a new venture that will host a series of workshops and food related activities through the year in Mumbai, is holding its first workshop on Friday and Saturday. Expert chocolatier Zeba Kohli will be conducting a chocolate workshop for adults and kids on 14th and 15th June 2013 respectively. Learn about fine chocolates, how to make chocolate rocks and the art of dipping and filling centred chocolates. The workshop will take place at 38, Maharshi Karve Road, Marine Lines, Mumbai and costs Rs. 1,800 for children and Rs. 2,500 for adults. 9th June – This Sunday, attend a photography workshop at The Studio in Santacruz called Light, Science and Magic. Conducted by Debi Sen Gupta and Anil Fernandes, the workshop is based on using the external flash and post processing studio images with LR4. Basically, understand the basics of using an external flash, the grammar of light and learn to process your pictures to get the best quality of Raw files. Theatre

8th and 9th June – Watch the play Beyond Bling – A Story about Heroes by The Artistes Studio for young children. It will take the kids through music, dance and movement to a space where it is ‘cool’ to actually acknowledge that there is a world beyond bling. A vision to enlighten the minds of today’s children, the promising play is directed by Yashwant Singh. It will take place at NCPA at 5 pm on this Saturday and Sunday. The second time, it will be featured at Prithvi Theatre in Juhu on 11th and 12th June at 5 pm and 8 pm.

 


Art

7th to 9th June – For a different kind of awakening, art enthusiasts can head to Jehangir Art Gallery this weekend as ex-students of Society for the Education of the Crippled (SEC), Mumbai hold an art show of their beautiful work. Titled ‘Living Their Dreams’, the show comprises works of Bandenawaz Nadaf , Shahanawaz Shaikh, Rahim Khan, Sunil Darekar, Haseeb Chaudhary,Shubham Rajshekar Paitti and Nitin Bhise. “The concept behind this initiative is to recognize, appreciate and give a boost to our students who despite their severe handicap and all odds try to maintain a positive approach towards life”, says the VP of SEC, Zarine Chothia. Inspiring, indeed! 

 

Food and Nightlife

9th June – How about making some wine this Sunday at Sun-N-Sand Hotel in Juhu? They are hosting a ‘grape stomping’ activity along with their Sunday buffet brunch from 12:30 pm onwards. The brunch will take place at the poolside of the hotel so rest assured to have an easy, breezy, relaxing Sunday. Winesome weekend!
