Top 5 Bollywood Show Stoppers At India Bridal Week 2013
If you’ve read my post about the trends for the season, then you’re up to date – if not, now would be a good time!
Spotting Bollywood celebrities on the runway, bringing in the PR for the designers and endorsing brands like models (maybe better) is something we’re all extremely familiar with. I always say, there are two main religions in this country of Gods: cricket and Bollywood; and no country knows how to capitalize on this better than our own!
With movie stars constantly seen walking the ramps for designers, here’s bringing you my personal list of top 5 who I thought fit into the category for bridal week this season. Take a look and let me know what you think of this:
Dressed in the traditional bridal hue, Jacqueline Fernandez looked glamorous as ever in Jyotsna Tiwari on the first day of India Bridal Week. With her cute smile shining through the spotlight, we could see why she was the choice for the showstopper of the very first show. She’s always seen in at least one show at Aamby Valley’s Bridal Week and having watched her live I was pretty convinced personally, as to why there’s that regularity.
Chitrangadha Singh looked stunning as ever in the layered look by Tarun Tahiliani at Azva’s show. With the elegance of a swan and the cheek bones of a Greek Goddess, this beauty photographs like no other!
I think that this former Miss India has an elegance completely unmatched by any of her contemporaries. She’s got the cute and bubbly, yet effervescently elegant spark about her. I’ve quite liked her since she started coming in the movies, but what’s best about the way this diva looks is the grace with which she carries off her garments – and Rathore’s show was no exception.
Another former Miss India, she had the grace of a Queen. Donned in a seriously heavy J J Valaya lehenga choli and georgette/net dupatta, she had her personal sense of color and style added to the look like it was made for only her. What I absolutely loved about this specific show stopper was how she mixed herself with the models towards the end of the show, and yet managed to stand out.
The show stoppers for Neeta Lulla’s show were probably the most dramatic of the lot! With Riteish spreading his arms across (typical SRK style) for his lover girl to come towards him, Genelia entered from the audience making an oh-so-filmy appearance. Draped in layers of brocade and an oversized bronze peplum, Genelia looked like the Princess who had just arrived, and Riteish definitely played the part of the Prince to the ‘t’.
