Top 6 Trends From India Bridal Week 2013
Aamby Valley India Bridal Week 2013 has finally come to an end, but we’re still marveling at the trends it showed us for the brides-to-be. With the gorgeous fabrics, embroideries, hues and styles that cater to all the women who have their eyes set on their trousseaus and what we call in typical desi style, ‘shaadi shopping‘, here’s a treat for you! Read on to know about the fashion and beauty styles that are currently trending:
Floral motifs are a great way to sport your femininity with elegance. Be it in the form of prints, embroideries or fabric cut outs (one of the newest ways of flaunting designs), these are ruling the ramp like no other trend.
Anarkalis, saree blouses, kurtas, kaftans, all of these styles are being sported this winter with high collars. Embellishments and embroideries, too, are styles that are being mixed for Indian wear this time around. What’s most amazing about this is how sophisticated and stylish it can look all at the same time, and yet, so sexy when it’s paired with the right cuts.
Make way for regal layers, it’s time to go fun! With layers and tiers making a come back (Oh 60s, we’ve missed you so much!) we’re obviously reminded of Katrina Kaif from ‘zara zara touch me‘ with this one – and we’re anything but complaining. The layers and tiers trend is amazing for the skinny bride and adds amazing volume to the look.
InOnIt tip: The layers of net, like the one in this picture, look volumized but are super light to carry off through the long reception ceremony on your big day!
Going conservative may or may not be everyone’s style, but one thing is for sure – adding some sheer to your look can definitely be the way to meet half way. Be it the super low back or the tummy you want to flaunt, if you’re in two minds, this could just be the perfect way out!
Naturally, no bride is complete without jewelry that kills. This season, we’re hitting the pause button on the short chokers and throwing volume on our necklines. With a royal move like this, we don’t see how any desi girl could be left unnoticed.
Last but certainly not the least, something for the hair. The easiest way to go when you’re attending someone’s wedding is to leave your hair loose and maybe just a soft blow-out for it to look fuller. That’s almost everyone’s go-to, isn’t it? Well, to look more in vogue this season, I’m recommending that all of you start experimenting with up-dos. Be it the simplest buns, braids, or high bouffants, look super stylish while you’re at it! Oh and don’t forget the headgear for brownie points.
