Trek To The State’s Highest Peak This Monsoon

The start of the monsoon will be greeted with happiness in Mumbai after the scorching heat of this year’s summer. But better yet, Trek Mates India has organised a trek to the highest peak in Maharashtra, Kalsubai, so you can go to the mountains of the Sahyadris and witness some of the first few showers.

Kalsubai is the highest peak of the Sahyadri range and the summit, which has a small temple, offers views to famous forts in the mountains surrounding including Ramsej, Harihargad and Bahula to the north, Aundha, Vishramgad and Bitangad to the east, Alang, Madangad, Kulang and Ratangad to the west, and Pabhargad, Ghanchakkar and Harishchandragad to the south.

While certain parts of the trek may be difficult, chains, ladders and railings have been installed to assist the trekker.

The fee is Rs. 700 per head which includes transport, breakfast, refreshments and expertise charges.
