Our Verdict: Day 4 Of Lakme Fashion Week Summer/ Resort 2014
Day before the last, almost through Lakme Fashion Week and we still want more. Our lust list seems to be never ending these days as ensembles on the runway have been making us feel like indulging in all the shopping and fashion there can be.
Meanwhile, here’s our verdict on Day 4.
Collection of the day: Shantanu and Nikhil
Shantanu and Nikhil presented an array of sophisticated ensembles with the kind of elegance and polished appeal we relate to the vintage times. The collection speaks about Vanessa’s journey through pre and post independence, Vanessa being their imaginary muse. Gowns, peplums, cropped capes, pencil skirts in nudes and pastels- it was all so beautiful!
Most wearable: Shehla Khan
Shehla Khan’s collection included outfits for each of your occasions; short dress for a date, shorts and shirts for shoppers’ day out or Indian silhouettes for weddings and festivals.
Prints of the day: Ken Fernandes
Ken Fernandes’s “Secret Garden” exhibited an assortment of printed outfits on the ramp. Skirts, boxy blouses, crop tops predominated the collection. Asymmetric hemlines and peter pan collars exuded a young, fun vibe.
Best color palette: Kommal Sood
Kommal Sood Showcased her collection Champagne Bubbles- The colour palette ranges from champagne, Taupes, Beige to Greys and a dash of gold. Evening gowns and dresses majorly defined the collection. Tulle and organza were used in plenty to add a gorgeous sheer effect.
Most Likely to be seen on Page 3: Sonaakshi Raj
Sonaakshi’s sari gowns have been growing in our hearts and we absolutely love them. Her collection exuded class and sophistication with extremely gorgeous sari gowns. Once it becomes available for retail, the socialites are definitely gonna grab as many outfits as they can.
Moment of the Day: Shantanu and Nikhil’s onstage #selfie
We love it when the designers do that little extra to make the show more entertaining and memorable. After all, fun should always be infused into fashion. Agree? As cute as the group huddle looks, we’d actually love to see the selfie taken.
