Our Verdict: Day 5 Of Lakme Fashion Week Summer/ Resort 2014
Alas! All good things indeed do come to an end. And as we bid adieu to Lakme Fashion Week Summer/ Resort 2014, we are already feeling withdrawal symptoms.
Keeping with the ritual, here’s all the action from day 5!
Collection of the day: Rajesh Pratap Singh
We would rather call this collection of the week, it being the grand finale. And that slot, the collection truly deserved. The show opened by models wearing the signature Rajesh Pratap Singh white shirts. The color story progressed to pastels with skirts, coats, jackets, shift dresses and blousons. Waistcoats, capris, jackets, tunics, tiny boleros, high waist trousers, belted shirt waists, and gowns in black took over the ramp soon after. Inspired by “illusion” the collection seemed so beautiful, one would believe it cannot be real.
Most Outrageous: Little Shilpa
Little Shilpa, known for her eccentric designs, created a series of outrageous outfits that made the ramp come alive. All black ensembles with over the top head gears and accessories, the collection looked rather deep and philosophical.
Most Elegant: Junelia Aguiar
With a high vintage appeal, when we say elegant, think womanly hats, off shoulder dresses, peplums and black and white gowns. And we know nobody can ever not look elegant in a hat!
Most Wearable: Neeta Lulla
Little Black dresses, maxis, skirts and crop tops- the collection is something a refined woman would wear. Indo-western silhouettes with belted waists, we would love to give it a try.
Prints of the Day: Debashri Samanta
For Debashri Samanta, the focus was architecture. Architectural prints, building motifs on skirts, dresses, blouses as well as jackets- it was all about prints for Samanta!
