The Week That Was: 20th to 27th April
Hi dahlings! I skipped a week in between and I plead guilty. But you should know that out of natural habit and a penchant for all things entertaining, I kept mind-reporting The Week That Was. Hope you guys missed my weekly update, are deprived and starved of gossip and entertainment and fully bored in office on a Monday. Here’s bringing you all the latest goss:
1) Finally Mrs Chopra
The week began by ‘Breaking News’ that Aditya Chopra and Rani Mukerji have finally tied the knot. The smart (and rich) couple did so in a secret ceremony in the Italian countryside. The rumour mills are busy churning that they had actually tied the knot long ago and are just announcing it to the world now. If you ask me, it doesn’t really matter. They are hardly the ‘it’ couple anyone’s talking about. But that was bound to happen if a not-too-young actress marries India’s most reclusive director. However, we are eternal suckers for lovers who pine and then go the matrimonial route, so here’s wishing them a lifetime of love and many doe-eyed babies. Shaadi mubarak!
2) Daddy Cool
Everyone’s favourite romcom guy, Ayushmann Khurrana has become a daddy for the second time. Woot woot! He and wife Tahira (his college sweetheart) have welcomed a baby girl into this world on 21 April. While that’s adorable, did you guys know that he was already a dad? (I had noooo clue.) His first child, son Virajveer was born in 2012. Congratulations Ayushmann, we hope the new lady luck takes care of all your Bewakoofiyan! Here’s to seeing more of you in better films, please?
3) Do The Rex
Kudos Team Durex, you guys have struck gold with this campaign. ONLY RANVEER SINGH COULD HAVE PULLED THIS OFF. I shall say no more, please watch:
4) Clooney Engaged
Girls, you need to sit down for this one! Trust me, I wish it was a joke as much as you do. But turns out incorrigible bachelors like him also bite the bait when the time comes. The 52-year-old actor and Amal Alamuddin, 36, a Beirut-born barrister, are said to have bought an engagement ring and shared the news with friends too. Alamuddin, who is fluent in French and Arabic, has represented Julian Assange, the Wikileaks founder, and Yulia Tymoshenko, a former prime minister of Ukraine. Err, we can’t compete with that. We all-too-grudgingly wish the couple well!
5) PC, The Rock Star
Just when we thought the whole international rock star thing was just a phase, Priyanka Chopra released her new single (her third)—and it topped the charts on iTunes India in a span of 24 hours. Such is the power of perseverance and stardom! This unique cover of Bonnie Raitt’s 1991 song I Can’t Make You Love Me is really different because the original is a ballad and this one has dance music. A lot of people who love the original do not like Priyanka’s new attempt. I, on the other hand, just feel like it doesn’t even sound like her! I don’t mean to be catty, though, I’m sure PC is as hardworking as everyone says she is. Also, if you follow her on social media, you will gather that she’s a total workaholic. Still, I can’t help but feel unconvinced. Hear for yourself and help me decide.
Hope you enjoyed The Week That Was.
Till next week, stay tuned and stay stylish; and if you can’t manage that, no worries my dear. Leave it to us. We’ll make sure you are always InOnIt. It’s literally our job.
