The Week That Was: Flying Dutchmen & Devil Heroes
Hello, peeps—we’re back to give you your weekly dose of fun. In a week dominated with not much else besides FIFA, we’ve picked a handful of Bollywood, TV and sports goss to keep you going through the Monday blues.
Yes, we know you were all rooting for the Spanish hotties (so were we!), but what happened on Friday night was nothing short of a whitewash. Spain’s crushing 5-1 defeat to 2010′s runners-up Netherlands is exactly why football is so entertaining. We can’t stop thinking about Flying Dutchman Robin van Persie’s header goal, which will definitely be hard to top this World Cup. If you missed this absolute beauty, here it is below.
The Preity-Ness Saga
It’s always sad when a relationship goes kaput, but this one has us in a complete spin. Actress Preity Zinta has filed an FIR against former flame and current Kings XI co-owner, businessman Ness Wadia, who she has alleged molested and manhandled her in public. The police have registered an FIR against Wadia under IPC sections 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) and 509 (Word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman). This, of course, has led to stern retaliation from Wadia, who has alleged that Zinta is just a jealous, spurned ex. We’re not sure what the truth is, but we do hope the couple iron out their differences and sort things out. Amen!
Totally Kick(ed) About This
This week also saw the trailer launch of Salman Khan’s new film, Kick. Now, the Salman fan in us can’t wait for the film’s release this Eid, where we’ll see the actor decked up as a ‘devil’, killing all his nemeses in typically Sallu style. Also, how gorgeous does Jacqueline Fernandez look in this movie?! Here’s the trailer for your viewing pleasure.
Game of Thrones Season Finale
Yes, it’s that time of the year when our beloved series, Game of Thrones, is about to end its latest season, with plenty of questions unanswered. The producers David Benioff and DB Weiss have maintained that this season finale is the best so far—and after watching it today, we couldn’t agree more. We’re not going to give anything away, but let’s just say that this is Tyrion’s ode to Father’s Day. Watch it and tell us what you thought. April 2015 can’t come soon enough!
Schumacher Out Of Coma
Just when we were about to hit publish on this article, we’ve heard a piece of good news that warmed our heart. Yes, Michael Schumacher is finally out of coma. His spokesperson confirmed the following: “Michael has left the CHU Grenoble (hospital) to continue his long phase of rehabilitation. He is not in a coma anymore. For the future we ask for understanding that his further rehabilitation will take place away from the public eye.” We hope and pray for a quick recovery!
That’s all for this week, folks! We’ll see you very soon for our next edition of The Week That Was. Till then, ciao and keep smiling!
