The Week That Was: Of Monsoons & Movies
Hello, dahlings! They say that into every life, there must fall some rain. While I’m sure that means difficult times befall us all. I say, let’s turn that phrase on its head. So if in every life, there *must* fall some rain…let’s bring out the pakoras, make that chai, sit in our balconies and soak in that rhythmic pitter-patter. Oh, not without reading the weekly round-up, though. Duh!
Let’s start with some absolute aww-worthy news! Actress Soha Ali Khan and actor Kunal Khemu who have been dating each other for quite some time now are engaged and will soon be tying the knot. There have been rumours suggesting this for a *long* time now, since the two have been living together for a while. But this time we know for sure because Soha took to Twitter to share the good news with all her fans. “It gives me great happiness to share with you all that Kunal proposed to me in Paris with the most perfect ring in the world and I said yes”. Lucky girl Soha! We can’t wait to see that perfect ring, btw. Wishing the newly engaged couple a blissful life ahead!
Yayyyy! I am a self-confessed Dharma Productions fan. And out of all their recent work, I like Ayan Mukerji’s films the best. Both Wake Up Sid and YJHD had such a nice vibe about them, don’t you think? So I’m super excited to see KJo confirm on Twitter that ‘Ayan Mukerji’s next for Dharma Productions is slated to begin mid next year and release December 23, 2016. RANBIR KAPOOR and ALIA BHATT.” I have such a strong feeling this pair is going to be the next big thing! Not only are they both such amazing actors (Alia has recently proved herself), they belong to such illustrious film families. Oh, and Alia hasn’t hidden the fact that she has a huge crush on Ranbir! Good going snagging the lead opposite him, Miss Bhatt. If only that’s how we could deal with all our crushes.
Dil Dhadakne Do
I think the Bollywood fan in me could just do somersaults this week! From Ayan Mukerji to another favourite, Zoya Akhtar is in the news. I’m so super excited about Dil Dhadakne Do and while the release is still far away, they are being super cheeky by giving us a glimpse of the film through teaser posters!
The film revolves around a dysfunctional family on a cruise trip and is directed by Zoya Akhtar and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani and Farhan Akhtar’s Excel Entertainment. The film casts Ranveer Singh, Priyanka Chopra, Anushka Sharma, Farhan Akhtar, Shefali Shah and Anil Kapoor. Ranveer Singh and Priyanka Chopra will play siblings, Anil Kapoor and Shefali Shah play their parents. Anushka Sharma is paired opposite Ranveer Singh and Farhan Akhtar plays Priyanka Chopra’s ex-lover. Rahul Bose (in a special appearance) plays Priyanka’s estranged husband. Dil Dhadakne Do is set to release on June 5, 2015. (Needless to say, cannot wait!)
Singer Justin Bieber has landed an endorsement deal with Calvin Klein (CK) and shot a campaign for the iconic brand’s underwear range. The 20-year-old joins the ranks of supermodels Kate Moss and Lara Stone who have modelled for CK before. Although it’s not known how much Bieber got for the campaign, Moss’ first CK contract was worth a reported US$1.2 million, later rising to US$4 million, as reported by the Daily Mail. Errm, that’s a lot of money for keeping your kickers on. And the world that we live in, I’m sure Beliebers (that’s what Bieber fans are called, FYI) will be celebrating this innerwear win!
Everyone’s talking about Bang Bang, but to me it just looks like another mash up of Dhoom and Krrish! What do you think?
Oh wow! Did anyone else get goosebumps? *Feeling inspired*
Is it okay that I’m more excited about Ratna Pathak Shah and Kiron Kher? Okay I’m just being bitchy, it looks like a fun movie!
Did the trailer live up to all the (million) expectations you had?
Have an amazing week
