Witness This Year’s Hemis Festival First-Hand

Jungle Lore is organising a trip to avoid the beginning of the monsoon in Mumbai in favour of the Hemis Festival in Leh-Ladakh.

The trip will begin with a flight to Delhi and a connecting flight to Leh. From then on there will be sightseeing across the valley which will include the Sindhu Ghat, Thiksey Monastery, Leh Palace, Shanti Stupa, Nubra Valley (a white sand desert which is quipped with double hump camel-back rides), Diskit Monastery and Pangong Lake.

The Hemis Festival in Leh is a celebration of the birth of Guru Padmasambhava, the father of Tantric Buddhism in Tibet. The festival is celebrated with the coming together of various tribes from across villages, performances with masks and dances.

The trip will also feature a visit to Kargil where attractions such as the Pattharsahib Gurudwara, Magnetic Hill, Moonland and Lamayuru Monastery will be visited.

The total cost of the trip (including flight fares) is Rs. 50,300 per person. For more details on the trip, click here.
