Being a major TV show addict, I’m always on the lookout for sitcoms and movies that will entertain me, and also give me fashion inspiration. Be it Grey’s Anatomy, Suits or Royal Pains, these shows always keep me glued in to those style tips, gorgeous fashion and of course, beautiful people in general. Here’s my list of five shows that all you girls absolutely must watch if you’re into beautiful clothes and great style.
Sex and The City
This one’s the classic! I’m currently on my third re-run of the series, and I keep going back to it every time I want a big dose of fashion, or well, for tips on guys. With everything from fashion to men, men to fashion, fashion to sex, sex to fashion, fashion to… well, you get the point. A story about the journey of four single gals in the city of New York, how they go about life be it their relationships, friendships or careers, and all of this in stylish avatars.
This one’s quite the twisted tale. With almost everyone sleeping with everyone, in my humble opinion, the story seemed to go down the drain a bit after halfway through season four (there are six in all), but what kept me going till the end of the series was the fact that no matter how the story took a downward spiral, the style quotient just kept going high up. From the latest luxury brands being spotted in almost every scene of this series, you’ll see great looking men (a post coming up on that soon) and gorgeous women in even more stunning clothes. Psst.. make sure that you watch at least every party episode, the gowns are to die for!
The Good Wife
The Good Wife is about a woman who lives an independent, back-to-work-after-over-10-years life after leaving the husband who cheats on her. Besides the fact that this is one of the most different story lines in the world of TV shows, I absolutely love how Alicia Florrick, the protagonist of the show, is portrayed through the wardrobe picks. With strong cuts, shapes and a stylish ensemble with no particular affinity to current fads, this is one character that will blow your mind, for real.
The Carrie Diaries
A prequel to the Sex And The City series, this is a show that will send you right back to the late 70s/early 80s where you’ll spot the biggest runway trends of that time. With the music of the era and the sets being as fabulous as the costumes, the show is sure to set you on a non-stop-catch-up-spree. I need to start my second season for this show, and now that I mention it, I know exactly what I’m going to download once I’m done with this post.
Pretty Little Liars
I’ve got to be honest with you here – this show is just too far fetched in terms of suspense. I stopped following the story long ago, somewhere in the middle of season three and four, but every time I spot a trailer online, I’m sure to stop and watch, all for the love of fashion. With the lead girls playing all variations of roles, from sporty to nerdy, sexy to girl next door, you’ll see how they’ve all been styled in some amazing ways. With characters being given priority, naturally, the wardrobes reflect each of their sense of style effectively.
